SHOWER GUTTER WATER WASTE HEAT RECOVERY
WHY A SHOWER GUTTER WATER WASTE HEAT RECOVERY?
A heat recovery shower gutter uses the technology ‘ Heat recovery from warm shower water ‘. The residual heat is extracted from warm shower water. The cold water on the shower mixer is preheated with this residual heat. An HR boiler, heat pump or boiler therefore needs to supply less hot water for the desired shower temperature. A few advantages of a shower drain heat recovery:
- Save energy every day
- Less CO² emissions with a gas boiler
- More comfort with a heat pump
- Interesting contribution for the EPC/BENG indicator 2
IN WHICH SITUATIONS DOES A SHOWER DRAIN HEAT RECOVERY APPLY?
A shower drain heat recovery system is often used in stacked construction such as flats, hotels, hospitals, apartment complexes or homes with a bathroom on the ground floor. This is mainly due to the fact that you cannot accommodate a shower pipe heat exchanger in these types of situations. A shower pipe heat exchanger is a 1700 or 2100 long heat exchanger. Because you have to place it vertically in the shower, this solution is only suitable for homes with a bathroom on the first floor.
TYPES OF SHOWER GUTTERS
There are only a few brands of shower drain HRVs available. The biggest differences are in the material used, efficiency, security and ease of use. As a wholesaler, we have specialized exclusively in sustainable installation techniques since 1998 and have had experience with shower heat recovery since 2004. Our shower drain HRVs are from the Swiss manufacturer Joulia and they produce three types: Joulia Twinline 10P, Joulia Inline 5P and Joulia Inline 3P.

INSTALLATION SHOWER GUTTER HEAT RECOVERY
Because a shower drain heat exchanger is a horizontal drain channel containing a heat exchanger, it must be built into the shower floor. When preparing the project, take into account a recess in the (structural) floor.
Fortunately, with our shower drain heat recovery unit, the installation height is limited to 9 to 12 cm. This means the exchanger can be installed in almost any floor. Curious about all the installation steps? Then check out the animation below.
